OUR CHILD-CENTRED/CHILD LED APPROACH USING AGE AND STAGE TO GUIDE US TO THE MOST APPROPRIATE SETTING FOR YOUR CHILD. YOUR CHILD IS AN INDIVIDUAL AND OUR ROOMS WORK TO ENSURE THE BEST IS BROUGHT OUT OF THE EXPERIENCE YOUR CHILD HAS WITH US.
Through our child-centred / child-led approach, we have developed our unique curriculum for the under threes, which is anchored in the national ‘pre-birth to three’ framework. For children aged three to five, we follow the Scottish Government’s Curriculum for Excellence.
NURSERY IN-ROOM VIDEOS
The pre-school area offers each child a balance of structured and free choice activities. Staff encourage children to be independent and responsible for their own learning by expressing their personal choices. The Nursery uses the Curriculum for Excellence as the basis for developing your child’s skills and learning and an individual learning plan is devised for each child.
PRE-SCHOOL: 3-5 YEARS
The tweenie area offers a welcoming environment for young children. Each child is treated as an individual in line with the Pre-Birth to three framework. Nursery staff devise a wide range of exciting and stimulating experiences to meet each child’s individual needs.
TWEENIES, TODDLER/JUNIOR:
18-36 MONTHS
The baby areas provide warm, homely and caring surroundings, with lots of close adult contact to ensure children remain calm and content. Nursery staff encourage babies to crawl, stand, climb and walk by introducing interesting and stimulating activities to support the development of the five senses.
BABIES: 3-18 MONTHS
